Executive Search Profile Vice President for Business ServicesNorth Lake College seeks applications for the position of VicePresident of Business Services (VPBS). Reporting to the President,the VPBS is responsible for the organization and administrationof the fiscal and business affairs of the college. Additionally, theVPBS is responsible for the administration of the non-instructionalsupport services of the college including, Facilities Services, ITsupport, Accounting/Cashier’s Office, and Auxiliary Services.

North Lake College opened in 1977, becoming the sixthof seven colleges in the Dallas County CommunityCollege District (DCCCD). The DCCCD consists of sevenseparately accredited colleges led by a Chancellorwho reports to an elected Board of Trustees. Collegeoperations are supported by centralized District offices.As part of the DCCCD education network, North LakeCollege works in collaboration with its six sister collegesand the District offices.The college’s Central campus sits on 276 acres in the Las Colinasarea of Irving. STUDENTSNorth Lake’s student body is racially and ethnically diverse. Ofthe 11,539 credit students enrolled in fall 2018, 41% identifiedas Hispanic, 19% as Caucasian, 14% as Asian, and 18% as AfricanAmerican. Approximately 8% of the student body are internationalstudents. Approximately 4,000 additional students per year takenon-credit courses. Approximately 80% of our students attendcollege part-time. While many students pursue Career and Technicalprograms, approximately 75% declare their goals as transfer to auniversity.STUDENT LIFEStudents at North Lake enjoy a vibrant studentlife environment with 24 student clubs,numerous honor societies including an awardwinning Phi Theta Kappa chapter, and specialevents and celebrations throughout the year.Athletic programs include: men’s basketball and baseball; andwomen’s soccer and volleyball. The student newspaper and literarymagazine are consistent award-winners.INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMSThe college offers technical and academic courses at the freshmanand sophomore level and is authorized to grant the Associate ofArts, Associate of Science, and the Associate of Applied Sciencedegrees. Position DescriptionResponsible for the organization and administration of the fiscaland business affairs of the college. Additionally responsible forthe administration of the non-instructional support services of thecollege, including Auxiliary Services.KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCEMaster's degree or higher in related field. Minimum of four (4) years’experience to include fund accounting and high level supervisory/management/budgeting experience. Additional four years offull-time experience as an administrator in a community collegeenvironment.Requires advanced knowledge of computerized business/accounting/budget applications. Demonstrated ability toprofessionally engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds.The ability to model high-quality customer service. The ability tolead collaboration across the college, and the DCCCD network.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the financial planning of the college. Projects income and expenditures, analyzes and coordinatesbudget development within the college budget allocation. Monitors and controls expenditures within guidelinesestablished by DCCCD policies and limitations of budgetallocations. Responsible for fiscal accountability for the college, includingfinal responsibility for all financial transactions, recordkeeping,report preparation, inventory control, financial and personnel/payroll document control. Develops, negotiates, and maintains contractual agreements onbehalf of the college. Hires, trains and supervises the personnel responsible fordirecting Facilities Services, IT support, Accounting/Cashier’sOffice, college safety and security, mail/copy/print shopservices. Provides guidance to lease operations in the areas of foodservice, vending, and the college store. Interprets and ensurescompliance with college/DCCCD policy and procedures andstate and federal laws as they apply to the business office andpersonnel/payroll functions. Supervisory liaison to police force assigned to college. Responsible for sustainability efforts and environmental healthand safety programs on campus. Serves on the college Executive Team reporting to thePresident. Participates as a member of the Vice President of BusinessServices Council for the DCCCD.
